Colored tights, printed tights, tight-tights! Lets go shopping for our most favorite accessory of all!
Last week, we talked about the granny square and House of Holland (which, by the way, their 2011 Fall blanket maxi dress is SOLD OUT at Open Ceremony!) Never we fear. Did you catch a glimpse of their printed granny square tight? They’re chic, 70’s funk, and a hell of a lot of fun!
Oscar de la Renta’s 2011 Fall campaign is something to be inspired by. I’ve grabbed a few stills to show you. Check out those green thigh high tights in their street style video. That bright green hue is amazing; don’t you think? It’s not too blue nor too yellow: it’s juuuuust right!
If you enjoy a luxe pair of tights like these Wolford’s from ASOS, then you probably know that Leo, their leopard printed tight, is sold out everywhere. So I went on the hunt to gather a few savvy alternatives so we don’t feel like we missed out!
Top To Bottom:
ASOS | Leopard Print Tights (14.64)
The Stylish Fox | Savanna Leopard Print Tights by Fiore (10.80)
Urban Outfitters | Leopard Sheer Tight (14.00)
TopShop | Leopard Print Tights (16.00)
There are a lot of brand and style variations to choose from. Here is one of our favorite Chictopians, Nataliefeo, donning leopard print tights in blue!
Fashion floral tights are a pretty statement maker. But I have the urge to rough them up a bit: snag them, pierce them, get them nice and gritty. How about pairing them with a 90’s grunge baby doll dress with a leather or denim jacket and boots?
Brooklyn Industries has their pair of floral tights on sale right now for 12.99!
Let us never forget the coveted neutral tight. It’s not quite as formal as black or nude nylon, but it quickly adds sophistication and a sense of modesty to any outfit ensemble. Paul Costelloe shows us a fun take on the neutral tight in the Fall 2011 collection by pairing it will wild hair and intense colors and heavily textured fabric.
Try these Ralph Lauren opaque tights from Macy’s (16.00).
Lastly, I could not end this post without mentioning House of Holland’s suspender tight for Pretty Polly. (That would be a HUGE no-no!) Have you’ve seen these? I have been holding back from buying them for a good 18 months or so. I think it had to do with the fact that so many other online indie vintage stores style with these. (I have a mainstream complex that I’m currently battling.) In any case, I’ve decided that I need these in my wardrobe–STAT.
Find them right now at ASOS (21.95).
I can’t wait for tight season to begin! Thanks for browsing some of my faves with me.
