Military Jetsetter

I don’t have a record player anymore, yet I can still feel the sound of Thriller, streaming through me. Michael Jackson was a pop phenomenon turned public sensation of the good, the bad, and the ugly.

No matter the skeletons in the closet, M.J. embodied a unique sense of music and fashion that ultimately held his title, The King of Pop. Michael Jackson’s iconic Military-inspired costumes have bled into the fashion industry, along with the new wave of indie / alternative rock in the earlier part of the decade.

While Military-inspired fashion isn’t new in 2010, the trend has yet to hit its peak. This Fall 2010 / Winter 2011, designers have re-created the essence of World Word II military garb with muted greens, bronze & khaki, set off by interesting details and fittings.
